Beautiful Pakistan — The True Splendour Of Northern Areas With A Caveat

By: Published On:

Considering the amount of effort successive Pakistani governments have put in promoting tourism in Pakistan and developing tourist destinations like the passage way to the K2 or Nanga Parbat base camp, promoting Pakistani northern areas to anyone as an individual not affiliated with governments feels like a true folly, as the lack of investment in developing those paths and providing extremely good quality camping facilities have made it outstandingly difficult for an independent to tell the rest of the world that they should visit this region. Nevertheress, if any intrepid travelers who are willing to tolerate the hostile conditions made available to them here because of government’s horrific priorities, then I would love to introduce such travelers to the following regions.

Although the photographer who has been busy creating these galleries has extremely generously allowed any interested parties to share them with the wider world to promote the regions, however, at the moment, I am creating this post in a rather hurried manner, hence, I will at some later point select the most exciting photographs and present them withing this post. Until then, continue to enjoy the galleries shared by some generous Pakistani either affiliated with the government or an independent party.

I would also like to disclose upfront that although most of Pakistan’s Northern Areas fail to compete with the scenic beauty of Switzerland and the Alpines, nevertheless, the Himalayan mountain range abutting the Gilgit–Bultistan region and some of the nearby valleys is certainly worth a look. I am attaching a few collections of photographs compiled by some Pakistanis with whom I have no connection, nevertheless, the compilations are quite good. Please take a look, and if you feel that you would enjoy spending a week or two here, then do book a trip to Pakistan. Rest assured that as a person who has grown up in Pakistan, I have almost never seen any street violence or religious violence in Pakistan. As I have written before, prior to booking a trip, keep in mind that our successive governments have invested exceedingly little in improving the routes to K2 and Nanga Parbat base camps and the camping sites are truly atrocious and extremely poorly maintained. Therefore, come forewarned and mentally prepared to face some extremely demanding environment where governments have done exceedingly little to make it hospitable for the visitors.
